Blue eyed baby Bobby

The other day I had the pleasure of photographing this amazing family. It was one of those feelings where I knew that I was going to love photographing them from the minute I stepped in through the front door. Not only was their home beautiful, but they were beautiful both inside and out as well. Bobby has those amazing, giant blue eyes that you usually only see in a baby commercial. He wasn’t too happy to see me and my camera at first but he warmed up to me before I left.

Bobby’s mom and dad are obviously so in love with him which of course made for an easy time for me. It was wonderful meeting them and I can’t wait for the weather to be nicer so we can do some photographing outside!

Beautiful newborn Tyson

This little beautiful boy is my little boy’s second cousin. Here he is at 14 and 15 days old. We visited family out in Arizona and my gift for the newborn was to try to make some beautiful images of him. It wasn’t hard considering the subject! Baby Tyson really is a miracle….his timing couldn’t have been better. His newborn magic is working on his grandma at a time when she really needs it. Thank you Nick and Lizzie, Joyce and Ron, Tina and Tony and Ya Ya….it was great visiting with you all and we miss you!

The extended “C” family….cold outside but a warm, warm family.

An old friend of mine Laura asked if I would photograph her husband’s family the day after Christmas since they would be visiting from Texas. I knew it would probably be freezing outside but figured we could make it work anyway….and we did! It was windy, raw and about to snow but somehow the weather held out for us. The kids are used to me since I’ve photographed them a bunch of times and the rest of the family were such good sports. It was so nice to meet everyone and I hope I get to photograph them again when it is warmer! Happy New Year!

Piper, Tucker and Campbell | First from another portrait party…..

I photographed this family for the first time when I was just about to give birth to my son. It was the last shoot before I had him so I remember it well! I was in awe of the mom as she had a 3-year-old and 1-year-old twins! She was cool as a cucumber and so organized. She ended up helping me after I had my little boy who never slept and I will be forever grateful to her for that. This time it was hard to get these 3 little monkeys all together but it didn’t matter….they are all so beautiful that I was happy with everything I was able to capture! The older sister Piper is like an “old soul”….just look at her eyes and the way she knew how to be in front of the camera. Pretty impressive for a 5-year-old! And then the soon to be 3-year-old twins (happy birthday!)…..such sweet faces and eyes! Large share for a portrait party….couldn’t help it!

Finn and little miss Cecilia

This family looked just like one of my “what to wear” posts….great clothes, great personalities and beautiful faces. I always say how lucky I am to do what I do! It was chilly chilly and these kids were troopers. I am not adding one of the whole family in case mom and dad want to use it for a holiday card! It was such a pleasure to photograph this family and I hope that I get to do it again!!!!

Nathan!

Here is Nathan….the most serene little newborn. I’m sure a part of his sweet demeanor comes his kind parents. They both are easy-going, relaxed and completely in love with their beautiful new son. He was a joy to photograph and let us have all kinds of fun with hats and blankets and posing his sleeping little body. Thank you Nathan and his happy mom and dad!

Anna and P.J. and mom and dad

Another favorite session. I wonder how many favorites I can have! Again all the elements came together for our shoot….it was unseasonably warm, the light was beautiful and oh, did I mention how gorgeous this family is? I don’t think I could take a bad photograph of any of them. They belong in a magazine! And on top of all this, they were the warmest, kindest family to work with and get to know. Sorry your sneak peek took so long and thank you so much for our day!

Olivia

Little Olivia is ALL girl! She has this great head of dark curls and big dark brown eyes. So beautiful and obviously very loved by her mom and dad. It was a little chilly outside but I don’t think she noticed! Instead she was curious about everything going on around her. You can see she is a thinker with lots of intelligence behind those eyes. When she smiles her whole face lights up. It was a pleasure photographing Olivia and her very kind parents.

Sarah and Fionn | Beautiful Boy and Mom | LARGE sneak peek!

I smiled when I met Sarah and Fionn (pronounced Finn) because I just knew I was going to have the best shoot! Fionn’s curly hair and giant happy eyes automatically were a recipe for beauty and on top of all that, the light was AMAZING. When we arrived for our shoot, the beach was overrun with the doggie playgroups that gather when the ban has been lifted at the end of the summer. The dogs were following Fionn around like he was one of them….and honestly he had the energy of 10 of them! By the time our shoot was done, Fionn had his blankie and thumb….a combination that his mom wanted to capture in print as it was so him at this time in his life. Hope I get to photograph him again and again…..couldn’t help but post a large sneak peek!

  • About Jennifer Shore Photography

  • As long as I can remember, I have loved being connected to kids. I always knew that I would have a life working with children in some form. Since my other big interest has been human behavior, I ended up with a formal education in Child Development / Family Relations and a master's degree in clinical social work. As a school therapist for children with emotional and behavioral special needs, it was still possible for me to see beauty in even the most difficult and disturbed child. Luckily right around the time I was doing this work, I was also exploring my other favorite interest, photography.

One day I decided to bring a camera into work. The results were amazing. The children loved to see themselves in photographs and I LOVED to take pictures of them. With the help of my photography teacher and best friend, photographer Andrew Xenios, I ended up having an exhibition of the kids I worked with. The pictures seemed to capture the essence of each person; even the most troubled child was still beautiful. From there, it was just a natural progression to become a portrait photographer.

The fact that I am just a big kid myself has helped me gain a wonderful perspective on children and their families. Photographing children provides me with the opportunity to show others the joy I see inside every one of them. This is what I want for my clients, to capture the moments when they feel most childlike, most at ease; as these are the moments when our true beauty is revealed.
