baby William

When I heard that William’s mom was expecting another baby and wanted me to be the photographer I was thrilled. I met Kristin a few years ago to photograph her son Joe and his cousin and had so much fun with her and her family. Kristin is a labor and delivery nurse and if you have ever had a baby, you KNOW those are the nicest, most patient people on earth. Needless to say, it made my day to be a part of this special time in their lives.

sigh…look at those eyes…

Siobhan’s belly!

Love love love my belly to baby clients. Siobhan and her husband were no exception. Siobhan and her husband made my job (ha! hard to call it that!) easy. Next up is their little girl that arrived last week. I’m sure she is just as stunning as her mom. :)

baby Mary Margaret

Don’t you love that name? I do. Often when I photograph newborns they are in their first 2 weeks of life in the big, wide world. Mary Margaret was special in that she was about 6.5 weeks or so but still a peanut as she was born a little early. She acted just like a brand new baby. She slept beautifully and was so perfect throughout. Her mom and dad love the outdoors so we decided to be a bit unconventional and photograph at an apple orchard. It was completely beautiful but very sunny as it was still early in the day. If you are a photographer you know that bright sun overhead is like a scary movie! Shadows and bright spots can ruin an image. I think we did alright anyway and dad is really tall and blocked the sun for some images. The trees helped a little and Mary Margaret couldn’t have been sweeter. It was such a pleasure meeting all of you and I am a little sad you are moving away to Texas soon!

Baby Zoe

Zoe was the name I was going to give to my second baby if he were a she…but I have a Henry instead!  I was already lucky in that I photographed Zoe’s big sister Eva and family the summer before, and then mom’s belly as Zoe grew.  Such a beautiful family filled with love!!  Welcome to this world baby Zoe!

Amelie is one!!

I had the pleasure to photograph this little miracle when she was in her mama’s tummy and then as a newborn which you can see HERE.  Now she is one and how much she has grown is crazy.  She is so amazingly loved and blessed.  It was a privilege to have her family in front of my camera once again.  Hope to make it a habit!

Fun with the M family…

I liked Katin as soon as we met (I may start all my blog posts like this but it’s true!) and when I met the rest of her family, well, you know the rest!  This family’s home was a beautiful place to photograph with light just pouring into the family room.  The rooms also looked like pictures from a magazine.  Very stylish and hip but also relaxed and homey.  It just felt good there and that is how I felt taking photographs of them.  As usual I love my job because of people like the M family.

Baby Eduardo

so…this post is officially ONE year late. A lot has happened in this year and I realized that I have dozens of sessions that have gone “unblogged”. I am on a mission to rectify this situation and am so excited to finally blog baby Eduardo because this family is among my favorites. Their little guy was such a perfect, beautiful baby. When you see mom and dad you will know why. Thank you Jorge and Georgina for you endless patience and kindness. I promise it will be worth it.

And just to show you how teeny tiny he was:

Little Lillian Grace

This was the second part of my favorite kind of session…the Belly to BABY! I’ve said it a hundred times but it doesn’t make it any less true…I love meeting mom’s to be and then meeting their little miracles a few weeks later. It is like magic. Once Lillian’s mama and I started talking we realized that we had quite a bit in common…we have lived almost parallel lives (along with having the same name)! Even without all of our “coincidences”, I would have felt connected to Jennifer anyway. She and her husband could not have been kinder or more open and excited to share their sweet Lillian. I loved meeting all of them and plan to stay in touch with this warm family. Thank you P family!

M family take 2!

LOVE this family. I love when Jennifer contacts me to set up a session because she is one of the kindest, nicest people ever. When I meet people like the M family I just feel so darn lucky to do what I do. Their little ones Rhys and Julian are FAST moving and do not like to stop even for one second. I have no idea how mom and dad do it but they are smiling the whole time. The boys are beautiful and if not for a slight difference in size and abilities, you would think they were twins. I hope to see them grow through my camera!

S family fun

Long overdue once again, I am so happy to finally post the sneak peek for Anthe and her sweet, beautiful family. Anthe was visiting from California and wanted to get photos taken while here. We lucked out with the weather and I lucked out with another gorgeous family. Anthe’s sense of humor made me laugh and I’m sure she made the volleyball players laugh too when we were leaving! ;) Anthe and Mark have their hands full with a 3 year old and 1 year old twins but you would never know from how relaxed and put together they are. I need their secret. I loved spending time with them and want to thank them for being open for anything (baby bum shots on the beach!). Thank you so much S family!

  • About Jennifer Shore Photography

  • As long as I can remember, I have loved being connected to kids. I always knew that I would have a life working with children in some form. Since my other big interest has been human behavior, I ended up with a formal education in Child Development / Family Relations and a master's degree in clinical social work. As a school therapist for children with emotional and behavioral special needs, it was still possible for me to see beauty in even the most difficult and disturbed child. Luckily right around the time I was doing this work, I was also exploring my other favorite interest, photography.

One day I decided to bring a camera into work. The results were amazing. The children loved to see themselves in photographs and I LOVED to take pictures of them. With the help of my photography teacher and best friend, photographer Andrew Xenios, I ended up having an exhibition of the kids I worked with. The pictures seemed to capture the essence of each person; even the most troubled child was still beautiful. From there, it was just a natural progression to become a portrait photographer.

The fact that I am just a big kid myself has helped me gain a wonderful perspective on children and their families. Photographing children provides me with the opportunity to show others the joy I see inside every one of them. This is what I want for my clients, to capture the moments when they feel most childlike, most at ease; as these are the moments when our true beauty is revealed.
