Sarah and Fionn | Beautiful Boy and Mom | LARGE sneak peek!

I smiled when I met Sarah and Fionn (pronounced Finn) because I just knew I was going to have the best shoot! Fionn’s curly hair and giant happy eyes automatically were a recipe for beauty and on top of all that, the light was AMAZING. When we arrived for our shoot, the beach was overrun with the doggie playgroups that gather when the ban has been lifted at the end of the summer. The dogs were following Fionn around like he was one of them….and honestly he had the energy of 10 of them! By the time our shoot was done, Fionn had his blankie and thumb….a combination that his mom wanted to capture in print as it was so him at this time in his life. Hope I get to photograph him again and again…..couldn’t help but post a large sneak peek!

What to wear in November!

Thought I would throw 2 sets of suggestions on here since I’m behind on everything else! Slowly, slowly I am catching up so those of you waiting for your sneak peek….it is coming soon! Today I photographed my sister and her kids. We are trying to do a surprise present for my parents for the holidays. Photographs of the grandchildren are all my mom and dad want so I have one more sister and a brother to go and then my own little guy. I will post the photos here after I get caught up. Hope everyone is enjoying this perfect fall day!

Welcome Clara!

Little Clara (love that name!) was born on October 14th and I was so happy to photograph this little peanut! A few weeks earlier I did a mini-maternity shoot with her mom (and dad!). Her mom was digging deep for courage to bare her belly to the world as many of our shots were either done outside on a busy street or in a busy baby store. I have included a few here that I don’t think she’d mind me showing (covered belly) but the rest are of the incredible resulting Clara! Clara’s mom Meghan told me that “we are over the moon!” about their new little girl and I feel lucky to have been a part of capturing her beauty- both inside her mom’s belly and then out in the world.

Mimi and Steve and Matthew and Christy!

I was so happy when Mimi called me to photograph her family because I had photographed her son a few years ago. At that time he was the one and only! Now he has a beautiful sister Christy and he is such a wonderful big brother. Their dad and I grew up in the same neighborhood way back when kids used to play kickball in the street. It was great to catch up with him and see how happy he seemed with his family. Mimi, I will have these all done by tomorrow but here is your belated sneak peek! Thank you for your patience!

November 6 | What to Wear!

Just a few more suggestions! I think there is supposed to be a few flakes falling today!

Remember that we can do beautiful “lifestyle” photography right in your home as long as you have a room that gets a lot of natural light. Many times kids feel most comfortable in front of the camera when they are in a familiar place. Fall and Winter make for some great slanting sun coming in through your windows so don’t hesitate to book your session just because it’s chilly out there!

  • About Jennifer Shore Photography

  • As long as I can remember, I have loved being connected to kids. I always knew that I would have a life working with children in some form. Since my other big interest has been human behavior, I ended up with a formal education in Child Development / Family Relations and a master's degree in clinical social work. As a school therapist for children with emotional and behavioral special needs, it was still possible for me to see beauty in even the most difficult and disturbed child. Luckily right around the time I was doing this work, I was also exploring my other favorite interest, photography.

One day I decided to bring a camera into work. The results were amazing. The children loved to see themselves in photographs and I LOVED to take pictures of them. With the help of my photography teacher and best friend, photographer Andrew Xenios, I ended up having an exhibition of the kids I worked with. The pictures seemed to capture the essence of each person; even the most troubled child was still beautiful. From there, it was just a natural progression to become a portrait photographer.

The fact that I am just a big kid myself has helped me gain a wonderful perspective on children and their families. Photographing children provides me with the opportunity to show others the joy I see inside every one of them. This is what I want for my clients, to capture the moments when they feel most childlike, most at ease; as these are the moments when our true beauty is revealed.
