Sarah and Steve….LOVE

I have been photographing for a while now….at least 8 years. 4 years ago I quit working as a family and child therapist so I could work as a photographer full time. Even with quite a few sessions under my belt, I had NEVER done an engagement session! Thankfully I had the perfect couple to practice with….completely beautiful and completely nice. We started our session at an old farm where we had so much fun listening to the roosters crowing and the geese honking while the two of them were trying to get romantic. The light was amazing and the location even better. The only thing missing was my favorite lens! I left it at home by accident but it didn’t matter because I don’t think I could have taken a bad photo of these guys if I tried. We did end up going to the beach before the sun went down and I managed to run home to quickly get my lens.

Thank you Sarah and Steve for such a fun evening. You guys totally spoiled me as far as making our session easy. We may just have to do it again! HUGE share for Sarah!

I have to add that the images don’t look “right” on my blog tonight. They are much better in person! Can’t wait to show you.

Watch them grow…

I have been photographing the “S” family for 4 years….since the middle boy was only 6 weeks old. I LOVE watching them grow! Now there is a little sister to help temper the boys but something tells me that she is going to have a big personality. I am so lucky to get asked to share in these moments….times with grandparents and photos of 3 generations of women, boys playing and mom and dad still somehow looking in love amidst the chaos that life and children bring. Thank you Geraldine and Gabe for letting me into your lives. It is always so much fun and such a pleasure.

Had to add this one to show you the in-between moments!! :)

Sort of “officially” introducing Sophia Rae with a bigger blog post!

Here is the full blog post of Sophia Rae….she has the NICEST mom and dad who both have boatloads of patience. We tried FOREVER to get this little peanut to sleep soundly but she must have been too excited for her photo shoot. It didn’t really matter at all as she has the most beautiful eyes and was just the sweetest little girl the whole time I was there. Thank you Venessa, Dave and Sophia. It has been such a pleasure getting to know you!

Jane….

This is the 3rd time I have photographed this beautiful woman pregnant….she and her husband make the most amazing looking children! Stay tuned for a post with photographs documenting my clients growing families over the years. It is really such a privilege to be a part of capturing their lives over time and seeing the happy changes that happen in between!

Here is Jane….pregnant with another little girl!

Had to add this one too….this is with her oldest. Sweet Grace….

Little Sophia Rae….just one for now but more to come!

This little beauty is just 5 days old here. She really is one of those babies that you can’t stop staring at because she is so beautiful. There will be more of a sneak peek to come but I didn’t want to keep her wonderful mom and dad waiting one more minute!

Craig, Leah and Nico….

Another beautiful family that I have had the privilege to meet and photograph. They were soooo easy going and wonderful to spend time with! Nico has these giant brown eyes that light up when he smiles and is so loved by his mom and dad. You can see where he gets his good looks from when you see an image of the 3 of them! The little guy didn’t have his usual nap before our session but was such a trooper until the end. He did get a little cat nap in the car when we drove to a different location for different light, and he woke up as peaceful and calm as before. Thank you Craig, Leah and Nico! Of course I put up too big of a sneak peek but there are plenty more to be surprised by when we meet again!

  • About Jennifer Shore Photography

  • As long as I can remember, I have loved being connected to kids. I always knew that I would have a life working with children in some form. Since my other big interest has been human behavior, I ended up with a formal education in Child Development / Family Relations and a master's degree in clinical social work. As a school therapist for children with emotional and behavioral special needs, it was still possible for me to see beauty in even the most difficult and disturbed child. Luckily right around the time I was doing this work, I was also exploring my other favorite interest, photography.

One day I decided to bring a camera into work. The results were amazing. The children loved to see themselves in photographs and I LOVED to take pictures of them. With the help of my photography teacher and best friend, photographer Andrew Xenios, I ended up having an exhibition of the kids I worked with. The pictures seemed to capture the essence of each person; even the most troubled child was still beautiful. From there, it was just a natural progression to become a portrait photographer.

The fact that I am just a big kid myself has helped me gain a wonderful perspective on children and their families. Photographing children provides me with the opportunity to show others the joy I see inside every one of them. This is what I want for my clients, to capture the moments when they feel most childlike, most at ease; as these are the moments when our true beauty is revealed.
