“Belle”

This is an unofficial sneak peek. I just have to say that ahead of time because I have yet to get through all the images from this session but I could not resist posting these of this beautiful girl. Her name is perfect for her….”Belle”. Her ringlets are THE BEST and her sweet face if filled with expression. She is everything a 4-year-old should be and more. I will write more on her “official” sneak peek but here are a few that I have looked at so far and fell in love with.

This is just a small sampling of her beautiful smile…

Isabel and Sara

I loved this session. Okay, I know I say it every time. But I mean it every time too! Each session is different for too many reasons to name- even if they are with repeat clients! But this one was special because it celebrated a grandparent’s love for their granddaughter and her best friend. Isabel was visiting her grandmother for a few weeks here in Marblehead, and for the last week of her stay her best friend Sara came to stay. Isabel’s grandmother is a VERY generous soul and she wanted to give the gift of photographs to her granddaughter. She realized how important your best friend is at 15 and wanted the girls to have a “tangible” memory to hold onto throughout their lives. Something to remember what was important to them in this moment. She took out her fun jewelery and giant hats and we had fun. We had the session at her house since that location held the most meaning for them. Here are a few of the images…thank you so much Isabel and Sara!

Sweet Kelly at 10 years…..

I met Kelly 2 years ago when she had her First Communion. She was this beautiful little girl dressed in white and just looked like an angel. Fast forward to this past weekend….she is still a beautiful girl dressed in white that looks like an angel….and I think she will carry this inner and outer beauty throughout her life. Kelly’s mom and dad are amazing. They hung back while I photographed, thinking that Kelly would do better without them hovering. They wanted to “catch up” with each other….how sweet is that?! Kelly was like a dream for me….willing to take off her sparkly shoes to get herself into the frog infested pond so I could photograph her. You can tell how much she is loved not only by how her mom and dad treat her, but also by how sweet she was with me. Thank you Kathy, Mark and Kelly! I loved this session….one of my favorites!

This is their dog who has had a LOOOOONG life and we wanted to capture a moment with him…..

Her parents were not planning on being in any photos and weren’t prepared for it but Kelly and I told them they had to be in at least one. I’m so happy we made them!

Joe and Simon. 2 year old cousins!

When Kristen called and asked about a session with her son Joe and his cousin Simon (both just 2-years-old), we both laughed about how crazy busy kids are at this age and we would have to be on our game to keep them interested. Then when they showed up with the most beautiful little guys with such distinctly different looks and interesting little personalities, I couldn’t help but smile. Joe has bright white hair, blue, blue eyes and the most infectious smile and voice. Simon has these deep, soulful brown eyes with an intelligent expression that lets you know he is taking everything in. I brought a chair and balloons, thinking that we could keep them sort of “contained” with these props. Silly me. Within the first five minutes the balloons went bye bye and I think Simon was a little broken-hearted after that. His mom and Joe’s mom and “Mimi” (grandmom) were such troopers while they tried to help me get the kids to stay close and be happy. Thank you to Kristen and her sister and mom and a special thank you to the boys for being so sweet!

and the sad moment of the lost balloons….

  • About Jennifer Shore Photography

  • As long as I can remember, I have loved being connected to kids. I always knew that I would have a life working with children in some form. Since my other big interest has been human behavior, I ended up with a formal education in Child Development / Family Relations and a master's degree in clinical social work. As a school therapist for children with emotional and behavioral special needs, it was still possible for me to see beauty in even the most difficult and disturbed child. Luckily right around the time I was doing this work, I was also exploring my other favorite interest, photography.

One day I decided to bring a camera into work. The results were amazing. The children loved to see themselves in photographs and I LOVED to take pictures of them. With the help of my photography teacher and best friend, photographer Andrew Xenios, I ended up having an exhibition of the kids I worked with. The pictures seemed to capture the essence of each person; even the most troubled child was still beautiful. From there, it was just a natural progression to become a portrait photographer.

The fact that I am just a big kid myself has helped me gain a wonderful perspective on children and their families. Photographing children provides me with the opportunity to show others the joy I see inside every one of them. This is what I want for my clients, to capture the moments when they feel most childlike, most at ease; as these are the moments when our true beauty is revealed.
