Breast Cancer Awareness | Pink Photo Contest

Last year around this time my sister-in-law learned the frightening news that she had breast cancer. I think that she never, ever let it stop her. Her son and his girlfriend had a little baby boy soon after she started her treatment and I really believe the baby was a much needed miracle. That little boy allowed her to think about something other than constant treatments. Although she had to go through so much to fight this disease, she never lost her smile. She kept her sense of humor and her strength which I truly believe belies her character. I am happy to say that today she is doing well and feeling good and I can’t wait to see her again!

In honor of Tina, I am entering this image of this beautiful little girl wearing pink.  I hope she will grow up in a world where she won’t have to worry about this disease.

Elizabeth, Steve and Cole

Big blue eyes, sweet smile and shaggy blond hair describes Elizabeth and Steve’s son Cole. When Elizabeth sent a note prior to our session asking if they could bring a couch I knew I was going to have fun with our session. I loved everything about it….the family, the light and the couch! This family was easy going, fun and obviously have a lot of love and respect for each other. Thank you Elizabeth and Steve and grandparents for the idea of the couch and also for lugging it out into the marsh for us! It was so nice to spend some time with your beautiful family!

Beautiful “S” Family

When I first spoke with Jessica I could tell she was a warm person even over the phone. Then I met the whole beautiful family of 5 with one more on the way and I smiled through the whole session. All the kids were sweet as could be and filled with happy smiles….Jessica is gorgeous and she and her husband make a stunning couple. Thank you to you all for making what I do and love even better!

Gorgeous family at the beach

This session was so fun….not only because the family was very nice, easy going and beautiful…but because it was filled with energy! The 2 older siblings were loving the beach. The wind was picking up and the sky was getting these dramatic clouds….the kids just couldn’t resist running up and down the beach and I didn’t blame them! The littlest one isn’t walking yet and he acted like the anchor for us all. I’ve said it before but this family should be in a magazine. Soooo gorgeous! Thank you Ian and Deb for sharing your beautiful family with my camera and I!

I Heart Faces Photography weekly contest theme | Orchard

I Heart Faces has weekly contests and this week the theme is orchard.   Since I just put up my sneak peek for a session in an apple orchard, I thought I would enter this photo….I really love it for a lot of reasons and hopefully the judges will too! :)

Clara and the apple orchard

Clara is such a mellow, happy baby (which probably has a lot to do with her mellow, happy parents!). We had our session in the early morning so we decided to go to an apple orchard. I am sooooo happy we did because not only did it challenge me to be more creative than when I shoot at my old standby location, I think we ended up with some beautiful images. By the way….I’m not patting myself on the back. I just think this family is gorgeous, the location and light was gorgeous and the apple orchard had such a fun energy that it showed through in our photos. I have just started going through them and these are the ones that I grabbed quickly. Thank you Tracy, Clara and Tyler! It was a pleasure to meet all of you!

Baby Allie…..

Allie may have only been a few days old when I met her, but she was already being so good for me. She slept almost the whole time I was there, and when she wasn’t sleeping she had this beautiful, calm alertness. Her eyes are an amazing color (just like her mom’s!) and when she looks at you, you feel like she is an old soul. Introducing Allie!!!!

Norah!

This is Norah….she is a beautiful girl that has just turned 1 and is “on to” having camera’s pointed at her! She wanted very little to do with my camera on the day we met and smiled a lot when the camera was NOT aimed in her direction. Sigh. I was able to get a couple of images where she was actually happy to see both me and the camera, but she definitely gave me a run for my money. Despite her aversion to having her photo taken, she was the sweetest, playful and curious little girl and I hope to get to see those amazing eyes in front of my lens again one day! Thank you to Norah’s mom and dad who kept a great sense of humor throughout!

Melissa C. Portrait Party!

I was so lucky to have another portrait party at the same beautiful location with more stunning families….I always wish I had more time with these families which is why mini sessions are hard for me. BUT! I feel so fortunate to meet so many nice people and sweet kids all at once. Thank you so much Melissa!

Baby Nolan

This sneak peek is overdue! You all may remember his beautiful mom Kristy from her maternity session that you can see HERE. It seems obvious that this gorgeous woman would have a delicious little boy! Introducing the sweet baby Nolan.  He is sooooo beautiful and completely adored by his mom and dad.  Without any further ado since this little guy needs to be seen, here he is!

  • About Jennifer Shore Photography

  • As long as I can remember, I have loved being connected to kids. I always knew that I would have a life working with children in some form. Since my other big interest has been human behavior, I ended up with a formal education in Child Development / Family Relations and a master's degree in clinical social work. As a school therapist for children with emotional and behavioral special needs, it was still possible for me to see beauty in even the most difficult and disturbed child. Luckily right around the time I was doing this work, I was also exploring my other favorite interest, photography.

One day I decided to bring a camera into work. The results were amazing. The children loved to see themselves in photographs and I LOVED to take pictures of them. With the help of my photography teacher and best friend, photographer Andrew Xenios, I ended up having an exhibition of the kids I worked with. The pictures seemed to capture the essence of each person; even the most troubled child was still beautiful. From there, it was just a natural progression to become a portrait photographer.

The fact that I am just a big kid myself has helped me gain a wonderful perspective on children and their families. Photographing children provides me with the opportunity to show others the joy I see inside every one of them. This is what I want for my clients, to capture the moments when they feel most childlike, most at ease; as these are the moments when our true beauty is revealed.
