baby William

When I heard that William’s mom was expecting another baby and wanted me to be the photographer I was thrilled. I met Kristin a few years ago to photograph her son Joe and his cousin and had so much fun with her and her family. Kristin is a labor and delivery nurse and if you have ever had a baby, you KNOW those are the nicest, most patient people on earth. Needless to say, it made my day to be a part of this special time in their lives.

sigh…look at those eyes…

Baby Zoe

Zoe was the name I was going to give to my second baby if he were a she…but I have a Henry instead!  I was already lucky in that I photographed Zoe’s big sister Eva and family the summer before, and then mom’s belly as Zoe grew.  Such a beautiful family filled with love!!  Welcome to this world baby Zoe!

baby Gabriella

Introducing sweet Gabriella! She was such a little sweetheart…and just like a baby out of a magazine. I mean she had perfect skin, hair and her lips were to die for! It was such a pleasure and honor to photograph her in her first weeks of being in this world. Her mom and grandmom were glowing and happy and this baby is already so incredibly loved. Check out the stork announcing her arrival! So funny. Here she is in all her beauty….

The fabulous and beautiful Young family

I have been waiting to do this session for about a year and a half.  About that long ago the amazing and talented Kristina Young of Kristina Young Photography was kind enough to photograph my little family.  She is a local photographer in Topsfield and I loved her work as soon as I saw it.  I knew I had to get myself in front of the camera and asked if she would do a trade.  Without hesitating she said yes and I am forever grateful.  If you are a photographer you probably are rarely in any of your own family photos.   I know it is hard to have a camera pointed at you but I am so happy that I just bit the bullet and made it to the other side.  Now I have beautiful memories captured forever that you can see HERE. Don’t ever wait to take photos of yourself and your family!

Well, to make a long story a little shorter, Kristina has been so busy photographing that I sort of forced her to find a time for us to get together.  Finally we had a time and she showed up dressed in a wardrobe that I really want.  I need to shop where she does.  She has this gorgeous family that belongs in a magazine.  Owen is movie star handsome, Kristina is completely beautiful (yes Kristina!  you ARE!) and their 2 kids Christofer and Janey have these eyes that you could swim in and perfect, little kid smiles that make your heart melt.  We didn’t have much time as we are losing light so I am going to make sure to gather their gang together again and spend more time with them in front of my camera.  In the meantime, I am so happy to have a few images for her and will make sure to hire her in the future for our family photos.

Grandmother Gift

A few weeks before Thanksgiving, I received a wonderful call from a woman named Robin. She wanted to set up a family session as a surprise for her mom. Robin wanted to present her mom with a photograph with all the grand-kids for Christmas. I could tell from the moment we started speaking that I was going to love doing this session, even if there were going to be a few wild cards (i.e. many children running around!). I have to say that it went even better than I ever could have expected. ALL the kids were AMAZING. They made the day incredibly fun even though it was FREEZING and of course I probably kept them longer than they would have liked. I think I received one of my best compliments ever from Robin’s son James when he basically told me that the session was a lot different than he had expected (meaning it wasn’t torture!). I could have taken these kids home with me! I wasn’t able to post the sneak peek until after grandmom had her gift in hand since it was a surprise, but now I am showing a GIANT amount of images from our super great day. Thank you all!

Deb’s Family

Thank you Deb for calling me and having me photograph your beautiful family. I think I was looking forward to it more than you were! I loved our pre-session conversations and am so happy and honored that you chose me to capture this moment in your life. I enjoyed every second of editing your images and smiled throughout. Ellie’s red shoes, Tad’s mischievous smile and Jack’s model good looks made it so much fun. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Fionn take two….

Sometimes in life you meet people that you just automatically click with….that is how I have felt with this family. I met them last year when I photographed Fionn for the first time. I was so happy that they wanted to do another session this fall as well and even happier that this time Dad could be there too. Fionn is a VERY loved little boy who shows that same love back to his parents and also his blankie that he has loved to pieces (literally). The blanket made it’s annual appearance at our session as it is also very much a part of their lives. I hope I can continue to see Fionn grow and spend more time with this family! Thank you Sarah, Peter and Fionn! It’s always so nice to spend some time with you capturing your love of your family!

Just a fun outtake!

The “W” Fun Family. For real.

I know I say this every time….but I had such a blast photographing this family. The grandparents on down to the littlest grandchild were full of energy and laughter. I had to tell the grandparents to please stop trying to make the little ones laugh (not a hard task at all!) because then they were coming out goofy in the photos. They were all so gracious and seriously great to be around. And such a beautiful family (families) as well. I love my job!

Nina

This is the second little baby this year that I photographed that is almost more than a miracle if that is possible. Nina is BEAUTIFUL, but then take a look at her momma! Jessica just glowed….usually women glow while pregnant and then feel very tired in the first few weeks after the baby is born….but Jessica seriously was just plain happiness. I loved spending time with Jessica during the in-between moments of photographing. Newborn sessions involve a lot of patience and waiting for the baby to sleep, eat and do whatever they need. I don’t mind these “waiting” moments as they allow me to get to know the moms better. I have often walked away with feeling like I have a new friend. That is how I felt with Jessica. Baby Nina was perfect during our session and I am so happy for Jessica and her husband (who I wish I could have met!).

Jean and her amazing family

So many times I meet my clients and then feel as if we are friends. Jean is definitely in that category. She is originally from Maine and that already qualifies her as one of the nice ones….but really, she is someone that is “real”, kind, interesting and also has this beautiful family that she and her husband Stein have made….I’m just plain lucky that I have been able to photograph them a bunch of times over the last several years. Their dog Lucy always makes it into one of our sessions, and this time I really loved the image of she and Jean that we captured. I’m not tooting my own horn….it’s just that there is something so warm about it and after the conversation that Jean and I had about Lucy right before I took it….well, it feels special to me and I hope it does to Jean and her family as well.

This is one gorgeous family as you will probably be able to see in their sneak peek! Thank you Jean, Stein, Nils, Ella and Sander!

This was at the end of the shoot when Nils was digging a giant hole in the sand and the other kids jumped in too.

Jean and Lucy the dog.

  • About Jennifer Shore Photography

  • As long as I can remember, I have loved being connected to kids. I always knew that I would have a life working with children in some form. Since my other big interest has been human behavior, I ended up with a formal education in Child Development / Family Relations and a master's degree in clinical social work. As a school therapist for children with emotional and behavioral special needs, it was still possible for me to see beauty in even the most difficult and disturbed child. Luckily right around the time I was doing this work, I was also exploring my other favorite interest, photography.

One day I decided to bring a camera into work. The results were amazing. The children loved to see themselves in photographs and I LOVED to take pictures of them. With the help of my photography teacher and best friend, photographer Andrew Xenios, I ended up having an exhibition of the kids I worked with. The pictures seemed to capture the essence of each person; even the most troubled child was still beautiful. From there, it was just a natural progression to become a portrait photographer.

The fact that I am just a big kid myself has helped me gain a wonderful perspective on children and their families. Photographing children provides me with the opportunity to show others the joy I see inside every one of them. This is what I want for my clients, to capture the moments when they feel most childlike, most at ease; as these are the moments when our true beauty is revealed.
