Baby B….a true miracle baby….

When I met Jennifer and her new baby girl “B”, I knew something special was going on and when I found out what it was I asked permission to share some of it here….so happy that Jennifer said yes! You see, I don’t think Jennifer’s story is uncommon in how she started, but her perseverance with what she set out to do and the fact that her little baby is here at all is a true miracle. Against all odds she has this beautiful baby girl. And she is so in love with her daughter. I know I can get sentimental but this story really struck me. I am so impressed with Jennifer’s strength and courage and am honored I was asked to be there to capture her miracle’s first days.

The “L” family

I had such a good time photographing this family. I know I always say that I meet the nicest people doing what I do but really it is not a lie. The “L” family is no exception. They have a beautiful little girl filled with personality and curls, a delicious new baby boy, a supermodel mom (for real) and a kind and gentle dad. The little ones are filled with a sweetness that obviously has something to do with their parents. Thank you for being so laid back and it was a pleasure to meet all of you!

“Belle”

This is an unofficial sneak peek. I just have to say that ahead of time because I have yet to get through all the images from this session but I could not resist posting these of this beautiful girl. Her name is perfect for her….”Belle”. Her ringlets are THE BEST and her sweet face if filled with expression. She is everything a 4-year-old should be and more. I will write more on her “official” sneak peek but here are a few that I have looked at so far and fell in love with.

This is just a small sampling of her beautiful smile…

  • About Jennifer Shore Photography

  • As long as I can remember, I have loved being connected to kids. I always knew that I would have a life working with children in some form. Since my other big interest has been human behavior, I ended up with a formal education in Child Development / Family Relations and a master's degree in clinical social work. As a school therapist for children with emotional and behavioral special needs, it was still possible for me to see beauty in even the most difficult and disturbed child. Luckily right around the time I was doing this work, I was also exploring my other favorite interest, photography.

One day I decided to bring a camera into work. The results were amazing. The children loved to see themselves in photographs and I LOVED to take pictures of them. With the help of my photography teacher and best friend, photographer Andrew Xenios, I ended up having an exhibition of the kids I worked with. The pictures seemed to capture the essence of each person; even the most troubled child was still beautiful. From there, it was just a natural progression to become a portrait photographer.

The fact that I am just a big kid myself has helped me gain a wonderful perspective on children and their families. Photographing children provides me with the opportunity to show others the joy I see inside every one of them. This is what I want for my clients, to capture the moments when they feel most childlike, most at ease; as these are the moments when our true beauty is revealed.
