Little Lillian Grace

This was the second part of my favorite kind of session…the Belly to BABY! I’ve said it a hundred times but it doesn’t make it any less true…I love meeting mom’s to be and then meeting their little miracles a few weeks later. It is like magic. Once Lillian’s mama and I started talking we realized that we had quite a bit in common…we have lived almost parallel lives (along with having the same name)! Even without all of our “coincidences”, I would have felt connected to Jennifer anyway. She and her husband could not have been kinder or more open and excited to share their sweet Lillian. I loved meeting all of them and plan to stay in touch with this warm family. Thank you P family!

Lindsay, Derek and finally Rex make three….

This blog post has taken me too long. I have been neglecting my blog terribly. I have actually been so excited to post these images because I LOVED these sessions. Lindsay and Derek are such a cool couple. For real. They are completely beautiful, fun and have such interesting backgrounds. Derek is a musician and Lindsay is an owner at a beautiful boutique store in Marblehead called Bobbles & Lace.  She used to model and with one look you can see why.

They chose my belly to baby package (love when clients do this!) and the maternity session was like a dream come true with the light, their personalities and the fun we had.  Then their beautiful boy Rex came along and I was so excited to meet him too.  Poor Lindsay wasn’t feeling well the day we photographed and we actually ended  early so she could see the doctor.  In the meantime, we captured some sweet little expressions from Rex, daddy playing the harmonica to him to soothe him and Rex letting me put some fun hats on him.

Thank you to Lindsay, Derek and Rex.  I can’t wait to see more of Rex’s smiley face soon!

The “B” Family…winner of the Mother’s Day Giveaway!

When I met Leslie and her family for their session, I was so happy that she had won my Mother’s Day Giveaway. You could tell that she was a beautiful person both inside and out, and that her family reflected this as well. I am doing a super large “sneak peek” just for the heck of it. Leslie had told me that she had very few images of herself with her children and husband and I am happy to say that now has changed! Thank you B family for all the fun and smiles. It has been a pleasure getting to know you!

Camilla….

Don’t you love the name? She’s going to be called “Millie” which makes it even cuter…just like her family and of course her beautiful self. Millie was sleepy and warm and squishy and a total love for this session. Her big brother helped me hold blankets and stayed patient even though he just wanted to go play on the playground. I hope my little guy will be as sweet when his new little brother comes around! Thank you so much Lori, Chris and Graeme for sharing your little Millie with me for a few hours. It was a pleasure to meet all of you! And without further ado…introducing Camilla….

Maternity and then baby Sydney!

I have been so behind on blogging…I moved recently and I underestimated the disruption it would be. Dina M. has been so patient for this sneak peek…so patient that in fact we already have met to go over all of her images! I figured I better get this “sneak peek” up and start catching up around here. I was so fortunate to meet Dina in the last week of her pregnancy. We quickly set up a mini-maternity session and she was glowing. This is her third baby and she was so beautiful pregnant. She and her husband decided to be surprised and didn’t know if the baby was a boy or girl…and then they had Sydney! She is beautiful, chunky, squishy, sweet and calm….everything you think of when you think of a newborn (well, newborns not late at night). We are going to make a plan to get the whole family in a photo session in the next few weeks (sister, brother and dad!). Here is a little collage of maternity/newborn images. It was such a pleasure meeting Dina as I feel like she is a friend already. She even shared her maternity clothes and newborn boy clothes with me! Thank you and congratulations to you and your beautiful family.

Baby Amelie….

Another miracle little girl who is perfect in every way. Her mom and dad are so in love with her little self. She was a long awaited dream and I am so honored to have been able to capture some of her first days for them. Thank you Wanda, Greg, Amelie and grandmom for sharing some of these special moments with me!

Mother’s Day Giveaway Winner!!!!

Ugh. This was an extremely difficult decision for me. Each and every entry was equally moving and I wanted to just give away the farm. Well…I don’t actually have a farm to give away but if I could I would give each mother that was entered a complimentary session. Each entry described a mother and family that was so deserving and some of the letters made me tear up! Husbands nominating their wives, mother’s nominating their daughters, friends nominating a friend that they admired as a mom….and also moms nominating themselves (made me very happy that they did this!). I truly wish I could choose all of you! But I can only choose one and the mom that I chose to be the winner is…..

Leslie Boria Carter

Thank you Leslie and congratulations! I look forward to photographing your family!

Thank you to all the other entrants. I was humbled that you took the time to share your stories with me and hope to have the opportunity to photograph you all someday soon.

Breast Cancer Awareness | Pink Photo Contest

Last year around this time my sister-in-law learned the frightening news that she had breast cancer. I think that she never, ever let it stop her. Her son and his girlfriend had a little baby boy soon after she started her treatment and I really believe the baby was a much needed miracle. That little boy allowed her to think about something other than constant treatments. Although she had to go through so much to fight this disease, she never lost her smile. She kept her sense of humor and her strength which I truly believe belies her character. I am happy to say that today she is doing well and feeling good and I can’t wait to see her again!

In honor of Tina, I am entering this image of this beautiful little girl wearing pink.  I hope she will grow up in a world where she won’t have to worry about this disease.

I was interviewed….

by a wonderful woman named Sarah Zimman.  I love talking photography and Sarah asked some great questions.  Probably because she loves photography as well!   You can find the interview HERE .   :)

  • About Jennifer Shore Photography

  • As long as I can remember, I have loved being connected to kids. I always knew that I would have a life working with children in some form. Since my other big interest has been human behavior, I ended up with a formal education in Child Development / Family Relations and a master's degree in clinical social work. As a school therapist for children with emotional and behavioral special needs, it was still possible for me to see beauty in even the most difficult and disturbed child. Luckily right around the time I was doing this work, I was also exploring my other favorite interest, photography.

One day I decided to bring a camera into work. The results were amazing. The children loved to see themselves in photographs and I LOVED to take pictures of them. With the help of my photography teacher and best friend, photographer Andrew Xenios, I ended up having an exhibition of the kids I worked with. The pictures seemed to capture the essence of each person; even the most troubled child was still beautiful. From there, it was just a natural progression to become a portrait photographer.

The fact that I am just a big kid myself has helped me gain a wonderful perspective on children and their families. Photographing children provides me with the opportunity to show others the joy I see inside every one of them. This is what I want for my clients, to capture the moments when they feel most childlike, most at ease; as these are the moments when our true beauty is revealed.
